Writing First

We gather primarily to write. While community is beautiful, we protect the sanctity of the creative space by dedicating at least one full hour to putting words on the page.

Embrace Diversity

Our community welcomes writers of all backgrounds, genres, voices, and experiences, celebrating the richness of different literary traditions.

Respect Boundaries

Sharing is always optional. We honor the privacy and process of each writer, creating a brave space where vulnerability is welcomed but never demanded.

A Typical Session

Arrive & Settle (10:00 AM - 10:15 AM)

Order coffee, meet fellow writers, and find your perfect corner of creativity. First-timers are warmly welcomed into our circle.

Intros & Icebreaker (10:15 AM - 10:30 AM)

Introduce yourself, welcome newcomers, and remind everyone about the WhatsApp community for updates.

Prompt & Brainstorm (10:30 AM - 10:45 AM)

A facilitator shares the day's writing prompt. Take time to explore ideas, jot down concepts, and prepare your creative mind.

Free Write (11:00 AM - 11:40 AM)

The heart of our gathering. Pens move across pages, keyboards click, and the room fills with creative energy as we each dive into our unique worlds of words.

Brainstorm Debrief (10:45 AM - 11:00 AM)

The post brainstorm debrief is where the magic happens. Listen as people share what the prompt brought out of them. Let it inspire your free write.

Optional Sharing (11:40 AM - 12:00 PM)

For those who wish to share, this is your moment. We listen with care—not to critique, but to celebrate the courage of creation.

Saturday Scribe Anthology Submissions

Submission Guidelines for the Anthology:

  • Select and submit a piece of writing that was inspired by that week's designated prompts for a small submission fee that goes directly towards the production of the book.
  • Submissions must be directly tied to the designated week's prompts; pieces from other weeks will not be accepted for that specific submission window.
  • Each scriber is welcome to submit up to two pieces per week for potential inclusion in the anthology (submission does not guarantee inclusion).
